가나아트 한남에서는 추상화가 오수환의 드로잉 작품을 선보인다. 이번 전시는 가나아트센터에서 개최한 오수환의 개인전, 《대화(對話)》 전시와 맞물려 동시에 진행된다. 작가의 드로잉 작업이 중점적으로 전시되는 이 전시에서는 캔버스 작업과는 또 다른 작가의 수행자적 면모를 엿볼 수 있다. 곡신(谷神), 적막(寂寞), 변화(變化) 그리고 대화(對話)로 이어져 온 오수환의 연작들은 결국 만물의 존재 안에 감춰진 자연적 본질을 추구하고 있다. 그의 작업에는 구상의 재현적인 요소가 제거되어 있으며 오롯이 색채와 물감의 물성, 그리고 역동적인 붓의 행적만이 남아있다. 이러한 특징은 작가의 캔버스 작업과 마찬가지로, 드로잉 작업에서도 나타난다. 다만 오수환의 드로잉에서는 캔버스 작업에서 드러나는 물감의 두터운 마티에르(matière)와는 또 다른, 투명하게 번지는 물감의 물성을 감상할 수 있다. 비시각적인 ‘본질’, 그 자체를 탐구하기 위해 붓을 움직이는 오수환에게 드로잉은 ‘무위(無爲)를 향해가는 과정에 꼭 필요한 중간다리와 같다. 흘러내리는 물감과 색채 그대로를 투명하게 보여주는 오수환의 다양한 드로잉들은 그가 추상을 완성하기 위해 끝없이 고심한 노력의 흔적이다. 가나아트 한남은 가장 순수한 상태의 그림, 오수환의 드로잉에 나타나는 본질을 이번 전시를 통해 보여주고자 한다.

For Oh Su-fan, who moves his brush to explore non-graphic nature and self, drawing is like a bridge that is essential for the process of moving towards zero force. The various drawings of Oh Su-fan, which clearly shows the flowing colors and colors, are a sign of his endless effort to complete the abstract. Gana Art Hannam is planning to show the essence of the most innocent paintings and Oh Su-fan's drawings through the exhibition.
